Nomination Criteria

The NVFC Lifetime Achievement Award annually honors those individuals whose remarkable achievements in the fire service and community exemplifies outstanding performance. This prestigious award is one of only two awards which the Council bestows. Nominated by their peers, the recipients are awarded a plaque and a place in history with the NVFC.
 
The following conditions should be considered when submitting a candidate's nomination:
 
  • SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Nominations must be received by August 1, 2008.
  • Individual selected must have given outstanding service to his or her state association in the fire service.
  • This award is not for heroism.
  • A committee of four NVFC state directors will review all names submitted for consideration. If a name is submitted from a state and a member of the committee is from the same state, the vice-chairman shall replace him, and if the vice-chairman is from the same state, the chairman shall fill the position.
  • No more than one award shall be presented at the annual Fall Meeting.
 
Candidate Information Should Include:  
  • Name
  • Address
  • City, State, Zip, Phone
  • Fire Service History
  • Dept., City, State, Date Joined, Elected Positions held, Appointed Positions held, other pertinent department information
  • Association History -- State level service, Local/County service, other pertinent information
  • Family History -- Wife/Husband, Children
  • Other Service to Community/State Government Council/Board/Commissions/Legislative Services
  • Past Honorary Awards Received
  • Please submit a detailed resume and letters of recommendation
  • Include detailed information regarding the nominee's accomplishments and any other information that will help the selection committee during the review process
