NVFC Holds Health & Safety Training Summit in Orlando, FL

The National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) hosted its 2022 Health & Safety Training Summit on June 24-25 in Orlando, FL. This signature educational and networking event was back to its traditional in-person format after two years of being held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Firefighters and emergency services personnel from 27 states and Puerto Rico gathered for two days of training, speakers, and idea sharing on critical issues impacting today’s volunteer fire and EMS departments. Many of the attendees were recipients of a travel stipend to help offset the costs of attending. Attendees could select from 11 sessions presented by a distinguished lineup of subject matter experts that focused on health, safety, and leadership topics. In addition, assistant director of the Florida Division of State Fire Marshal JoAnne Rice kicked off the event with the keynote address.

The Health & Safety Training Summit provided many opportunities for attendees to network and share ideas and best practices. This included a special evening reception on June 24 sponsored by Columbia Southern University, Darley, DripDrop ORS, National Fire Protection Association, NPPGov, OneTest, PH&S Products, and Sanders Resources.

The Health & Safety Training Summit is an annual event made possible thanks to a Fire Prevention & Safety Grant. The next Summit will take place June 23-24, 2023, in Oklahoma City, OK.
