I like to learn more about this way of life and get more information to share with my department. Paid or volunteer, I want to help my fellow members.

What is your occupation?
Firefighter

Why are you a fire service volunteer?
I had been a volunteer for 11 years before I decided to go career. I always wanted to at least volunteer to help my community. I could never join the military to serve my country, but as a volunteer firefighter, I can service my community.

What year did you join the fire or emergency services?
2010

What are your memorable moments as a firefighter or EMS provider?
During a natural disaster, myself and the others are out assisting in removing trees all day and night. Being with my fellow members, it really helped build our trust with each other.

What contributions have you (and your department) made in your community?
We provide great community education to help kids and adults learn much safer ways in the kitchen and around fires.
