Emergency responders and their families face unique challenges that can have a significant impact on behavioral health, and it is important that they have access to providers that understand this. The providers listed in this directory are behavioral health professionals vetted by the Firefighter Behavioral Health Alliance (FBHA). This directory is updated on a monthly basis. All providers either have firsthand experience with the fire and emergency services or have completed a training course through the Firefighter Behavioral Health Alliance to educate them on the fire service and the specific challenges they face. While some of the providers in this directory are identified as non-licensed professionals (e.g., chaplains or peer support specialists), most are identified as licensed behavioral health providers (e.g., psychologists or social workers). If you are looking for a behavioral health provider, it is always important to check directly with that provider for proper state licensing.
NVFC members and their household family can also utilize the NVFC First Responder Helpline for assistance with a variety of behavioral health issues and work-life stresses. You can visit the Share the Load program for additional behavioral health resources.

Unresponsive Providers: In an effort to ensure that first responders utilizing the NVFC’s Directory of Behavioral Health Professionals can be served in a timely and efficient manner, we ask that all providers respond to voicemails/emails within four business days (this excludes providers who have indicated being out of office via voicemail/email). If a first responder or the NVFC does not hear back from a provider with their availability within four business days, the provider will be deactivated from the directory until they have communicated to the NVFC that they are ready to accept patients. We ask that all providers who disagree send a formal email to the NVFC with the reason no response was provided. If you have reached out to a provider who is not following the above policy, please complete this form, which is anonymous, to make the NVFC aware of the provider.
