Get Ready for Crash Responder Safety Week, November 18-22

Crash Responder Safety Week (CRSW) is held each November as a collaborative effort between fire, EMS, rescue, law enforcement, and other disciplines to educate each other and road users about the common goal and responsibility for safe, quick roadway clearance. The 2024 event will take place November 18-22 with the theme “Responders Ahead! Reduce Your Speed As You Proceed.”

Your department can make a difference! Utilize CRSW to provide responders with critical traffic incident management (TIM) training to increase scene safety and effectiveness. Let the public know about their role in slowing down, moving over, and staying alert as they pass crash scenes to protect the responders, themselves, and others on the roadways.

Use the following resources to help plan for and participate in CRSW:

  • Register for the National Kickoff Webinar taking place November 18 at 1pm ET.
  • Utilize the CRSW Outreach Toolkit to find key messages and themes to use throughout the week.
  • Have your responders take lifesaving TIM training so they are best prepared for roadway response.
  • Share videos promoting slow down, move over, and don’t drive distracted messaging.
