How long have you been an NVFC member?
Approximately 10 years

Why are you an NVFC member?
When I became Chief I felt it was important to support the voices of the fire services and the NVFC is definitely one of those voices. I also knew the NVFC could be a valuable source of information for our volunteer fire department.

What is your occupation?
911 Dispatcher

Why are you a volunteer firefighter, EMT, or rescue provider?
I really can’t tell you why I started because to this day I still don’t know why….but I’ve been doing it for 20 years now and I feel like it is my way to be involved in my community and to give back to the community I was born and raised.

What year did you join the fire or emergency services?
1996

What are your memorable moments as a firefighter or EMS provider?
Just the family and friends that I have at the fire dept. Its become my home away from home and I’ve gotten to know so many good and giving people that its an opportunity I’m glad I was able to partake in!

What contributions have you (and your department) made in your community?
We do various things throughout the year, we are active in our local chamber of commerce and assist at various public events, we also put on our local festival called Pea Soup Days, provide fire prevention at the schools and local day cares, and many other things I cannot think of right now.
