Why are you an NVFC member?
I thought it would be a great way to network for my teaching as well as education for myself.

What is your occupation?
Paid EMT-B

Why are you a volunteer firefighter, EMT, or rescue provider?
Long line of public safety in my family, plus I felt it to be my calling – so that I may help my community and fellow man.

What year did you join the fire or emergency services?
2005

What are your memorable moments as a firefighter or EMS provider?
In June of 2014, I performed a swift water rescue to save a woman from flood waters. Two years prior I saved a motorcycle rider by proving life-saving treatment after she wrecked and partially amputated her leg. I was nominated for the 2016 courage and valor award from the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and made it to the top four in the nation.

What contributions have you (and your department) made in your community?
We have a 14-acre park for the community, and we go to local schools for fire prevention education and CPR training.
