National Volunteer Fire Council Receives $100,000 Donation from Tractor Supply Company Foundation

Tractor Supply Company Foundation web pageThe National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) has received $100,000 from Tractor Supply Company, the largest rural lifestyle retailer in the United States, and the Tractor Supply Company Foundation. The donation comes as part of the retailer’s launch of its Hometown Heroes program and its $1 million donation to charity organizations supporting our nation’s military service members, veterans, and first responders.

“Tractor Supply’s longstanding support for those who serve our country and communities is rooted in our Mission and Values,” said Marti Skold-Jordan, manager of the Tractor Supply Company Foundation. “We are so inspired by the NVFC’s meaningful work to support first responders. It’s an honor for us to contribute to the incredible impact the NVFC has had in our communities and across the nation.”

“We are grateful to Tractor Supply Company and Tractor Supply Company Foundation for this incredible donation in support of our nation’s volunteer firefighters, EMS providers, and rescue workers,” said NVFC Chair Steve Hirsch. “The NVFC is committed to serving the volunteers who protect their communities every day, and this donation will go a long way in helping us provide needed resources, training, and programs to these hometown heroes.”

This donation will help the NVFC support its mission of providing a unified voice for volunteer fire and EMS organizations. Volunteers make up 65% of the nation’s fire service, and small-town and rural communities count on volunteers to be there in their times of need, no matter what the emergency. The NVFC helps volunteer responders and their departments thrive by providing an array of support to assist with mental health, physical health, safety, recruitment, retention, leadership, funding, training, and more.

The NVFC was one of 10 organizations chosen for a donation. In addition, Tractor Supply’s Hometown Heroes program provides discounts and benefits to members of the military, veterans, law enforcement officers, firefighters, and EMS providers.
