Next Week is National Volunteer Week

National Volunteer Week is April 20-26, and the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) appreciates all that fire and emergency service volunteers do for their communities! You can use this time to reward and recognize your department’s volunteers to thank them for their service and commitment.
One way that leaders can provide extra benefits is by purchasing an NVFC membership for their volunteers. Membership is just $24 per person and comes with an array of benefits:
- $10,000 accidental death and dismemberment insurance policy
- Access to the NVFC First Responder Helpline for the member and their household family
- All courses free in the NVFC Virtual Classroom (non-member price is $24 per course)
- Eligibility to apply for special members-only opportunities such as gear giveaways and educational scholarships
- Volunteer Voices online member forum to connect with responders from across the country

In addition, utilize National Volunteer Week to let your community know your department needs more volunteers. The NVFC’s free Make Me A Firefighter campaign provides tools and resources for departments to recruit new volunteers.
