Why are you an NVFC member?
I feel the NVFC will give all volunteer departments a louder voice to regulators and law makers than each department could have individually. I also enjoy the newsletters because they are full of news that is useful to me and my department.

What is your occupation?
EMT

Why are you a volunteer firefighter, EMT, or rescue provider?
My thought on being a volunteer firefighter is someone needs to do the job and it may as well be me. I also do it to help to have a better community and fellowship with all other departments.

What year did you join the fire or emergency services?
2005

What are your memorable moments as a firefighter or EMS provider?
We were working a structure fire and a little girl comes to the engineer and tells him her dog is still in the house. When we headed out the door with the dog, the little girl’s face lit up and tears of joy started rolling down her face. She was so thankful and still thanks us each time she sees us.

What contributions have you (and your department) made in your community?
Through various fundraising we built a park with walking track, basketball court, tennis court, and child playground.
