OSHA Confirms Timeslots for Testimonies for Public Hearing on Emergency Response Standard
October 22, 2024
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will hold a public hearing on their controversial proposed Emergency Response Standard beginning on November 12. Last week OSHA sent out acknowledgement emails to those who submitted a Notice of Intention to Appear (NOITA). The email indicated that specific information about the designated time to testify at the hearing will be emailed within the next couple weeks.
The NOITA acknowledgment email came from this address: osha.emergency.response@dol.gov. If you submitted an NOITA ahead of the September 27 deadline and have not received a confirmation email, check your spam folder and make sure you are checking the account of the email address you provided to OSHA. If you still cannot locate your confirmation email, contact osha.emergency.response@dol.gov for additional information.
As a reminder, everyone who submitted an NOITA ahead of the September 27 deadline will be offered a timeslot to testify at the public hearing. Based on the approximately 500 NOITAs OSHA received, they expect the hearing to last approximately 2-4 weeks after the November 12 start date. The hearing will take place between 9:30am and 4:30pm ET on weekdays until all testimonies have been given, with a break for the week of Thanksgiving. Information for individuals interested in observing the hearing will be made available here.
