Why are you an NVFC member?
I am a member of a small department that receives five thousand dollars a year from the county and responds to approximately 250 calls a year. I joined NVFC for the assistance it gives in grants and training opportunities.

What is your occupation?
Firefighter

Why are you a volunteer firefighter, EMT, or rescue provider?
I live in a small town where everyone knows everyone, so I enjoy being there to help my neighbors and friends in their time of need.

What year did you join the fire or emergency services?
2006

What are your memorable moments as a firefighter or EMS provider?
Everyone has memorable moments when it comes to the fires, wrecks, and medical calls. But some of my memorable moments comes from doing public education with children and getting to see their reaction to the activities. Also training new firefighters and watching them fall in love with the profession.

What contributions have you (and your department) made in your community?
Right now our department along with the American Red Cross and several churches in our jurisdiction are out installing smoke detectors in residences.
