I want to be a part of the effort to support volunteer fire departments in the United States.
What is your occupation?
Retired
Why are you a volunteer firefighter, EMT, or rescue provider?
I have been a volunteer firefighter or EMS worker since 1964. I enjoy providing a critical service for my community. I also like being part of an effective team of friends.
What are your memorable moments as a firefighter or EMS provider?
- Saving a life in 1972.
- Attending my daughter’s first fire with her and I on the attack line.
What contributions have you (and your department) made in your community?
- We have saved a number of lives.
- We have saved a great deal of property.
- We have helped to train generations of children at our local schools.
